THE MINIMURI STORY

I’m Victor, a Mexican bloke living in paradise!

My wife, Olimpia and I are both from Mexico. We lived in Spain, from 2009 to 2012, while Olimpia finished her PhD in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Valencia. During this time, I trained the local triathlon team, ran for the Newton Running Team and taught natural running clinics around the country.

We moved back to México in 2012 and started searching for a team to train. Unable to find a team that focused on technique, we decided to start our own. We founded “Minimuri: Corre Natural, Corre Minimalista” – “Minimuri: Run Natural, Run Minimalistic”. The name originates a combination of the words “Mini” for Minimalistic (our running technique) and “Muri” from the indigenous Rarámuri language meaning “light runner.” We ventured to new trails and explored many new beautiful places, all around the country, running medium to long distance races.

In 2017, we decided to move to Las Terrenas in Dominican Republic with the hopes of improving our lives and raising our two boys in a safer and more wholesome environment.

Las Terrenas is a great place to rest and relax with beautiful beaches, and breathtaking landscapes. It is perfect for training with inviting coastlines for open water swimming, lots of not too busy streets, perfect for being on the bike, with awesome spots for running in the mountains, on the beaches or the streets; and to top it off, perfect weather conditions!

After adjusting to our new environment, several hard training sessions and months of preparation, we would like to invite people from all over the world to join us on a holiday training camp. Come train with us in our little piece of paradise. Regardless of your level, whether you are new to triathlon or want to reach peak performance for your next event!
